David Minihan, USPTA Master Professional 

Director of Tennis

 

 

David Minihan, Director of Tennis, is in his 12th year of operating Westwood Tennis Center, 2007 USTA Outstanding Facility of the Year.  David played his collegiate tennis at the University of Incarnate Word.  David is best known for his work with “grass roots” tennis and he has been recognized with many awards by both the USTA district and section.  Such awards include 1999 Missouri Valley Outstanding Contributor to USTA Youth Tennis, 1999 and 2000 Oklahoma District Outstanding Contributor to USTA Youth Tennis, 1999 Oklahoma District Excellence in Junior Player Development, 2002 District Outstanding Contributor to USA Team Tennis, 2003 Oklahoma District Excellence in Tennis Programming and 1998 USPTA Oklahoma Professional of the Year.  David is also a published writer, most recently authoring his first book, "Coaching Your Tennis Champion."  He also published many articles and tips which can be read by going to www.coachingyourtennischamp.blogspot.comIn addition, David is a national tournament director directing USTA district, sectional and national tournaments.  David is also a Master Professional with the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA).  He is also on the Wilson Advisory Staff.  David is married to Lisa and has two daughters, Aspen and Chloe.

 

Lisa Minihan

Office Administrator

 

 

Lisa Minihan works with Westwood Tennis Center in the pro shop managing staff, program registrations, accounts payables, account receivables and organizing District, Missouri Valley and National level tournaments.  She is also involved in the Junior Competition areas of ODTA and Missouri Valley.  

 

Lisa graduated with her Bachelor of Science from Abilene Christian University in 1998 and her Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Nazarene University in 2000.

 

David and Lisa met in “true Tennis-Hollywood” style.  They crossed each other’s path during their State High School Tennis Tournament in which they both captured the State Singles Title - David's 2nd State Championship and Lisa's first of 2 State  Championships.   They two daughters, Aspen and Chloe, who hope to carry on the tennis legacy in the Minihan family.   



Marc Claude’, USPTA

Head Professional

 



Marc has worked at Westwood Tennis Center for 11 years.  Marc is a graduate of Norman High School where he won the class 5A State Championship at #1 Doubles.  While serving as Director of Junior Clinics and of Adult Programming at Westwood Tennis Center, Marc is also on the Board of Directors for the USTA Oklahoma District and is on the Babolat Advisory Staff.  In 2007, the USPTA Missouri Valley Division awarded Marc with the Assistant Professional of the Year award.

Felipe Lopez
Staff Professional

Felipe came to the States from Brazil to play his collegiate tennis at East Central University.  He is entering his second year as a Westwood Instructor.  He previously taught at Lake Owego in Greely, PA.  One of his major accomplishments was representing his home country, Brazil while playing tournaments throughout South America.

Jordan Wacker, USPTA
Staff Professional

Jordan was a very accomplished junior player as he received a ranking as high as #3 in the USTA Missouri Valley as well as receiving a USTA National ranking.  Jordan played his college tennis at Oklahoma Baptist University.  Before coming to Westwood, Jordan taught at Enid Country Club.  He is a member of USTA as well as being a certified teaching professional through the United States Professional Tennis Association.
