Klingler Finishes High School Career on High Note

Congratulations to Westwood's Lexie Klingler for finishing 3rd at #1 doubles at the 2013 State High School Championship.  She teamed up with Jordan Henry.  Klingler will continue her tennis at Newman University on a tennis scholarship.

Epps Hired as New Director of U10 Tennis

We are excited to announce the hiring of Summer Epps as our new Director of U10 Tennis! Summer is from Ada, Oklahoma, where she won tennis state at #1 doubles and placed runner-up two other years. She played tennis at Oklahoma Christian University for two years and then transferred to East Central University to finish her career. Summer graduated with her degree in English Education and taught one year before deciding to be a stay at home mom. Summer has taught many tennis camps in Ada and Holdenville throughout the years and worked with many young children. For the past three years, Summer has been homeschooling her five children and focusing on teaching them the techniques of tennis and how to make tennis fun. Summer is married to Luke and they have five daughters, Gracie, Zoie, Sadie, Mollie, and Macie.

"We are extremely excited to have Summer on our staff.  Having a solid tennis background will allow her to bring that experience on the court to help develop our future tennis stars," states Director of Tennis, David Minihan.  Summer will also be available for private lessons for all ages.  She has already started accepting clients.  Call the clubhouse at 405-366-8859 if you are interested in taking a private from Summer.

Epps Selected to Regional Training Center

Congratulations to Gracie Epps for being selected to USTA Regional Training Center for the Missouri Valley. Gracie is in our U10 program and is taught by Westwood pro Marc Claude' and her parents, Luke and Summer Epps. RTC Camps are part of the USTA Player Development pathway; providing our most promising young players with more Player Development training opportunities within their respective regions. Camps are headed up by one our USTA Nationals coaches. 12 girls and 12 boys were selected from the MV section. Great job Gracie! We are proud of you!!!

Vote YES April 2 For Hotel/Motel Tax Increase

Attention all tennis enthusiasts and citizens! Go vote YES April 2 for an increase in the Hotel/Motel tax! This will have a huge impact for our parks including the tennis center. Top WTA Tour Pro Visits Westwood

Jarmila Gajdosova made a stop in Norman before heading to San Diego, CA to begin competing in the US Open Series.  Currently, Gajdosova is #28 in the world.  She recently made it to the 3rd round of Wimbledon before losing to Caroline Wozniacki 6-3, 6-2.  She has won 3 career WTA titles including one this year.  Jarmila's hitting partner is Tj Tisdale, son of Norman's Mike and Pat Tisdale.  Tj and Jarmia hit at Westwood a couple of days before heading out to California.
